The Purpose
A Lifegroup is a small group of people who meets once a week on a specific time and place to strengthen and encourage one another with the Word of God and prayer.
It is also called other names like small group, discipleship group, cell group or Bible study group. No matter what it is called, the principle is the same: it is a group of people who are invested in the lives of one another and together, grow their relationship with God and each another.
The Reason
You need
a family
Everyone needs a family that will love, nurture and guide him throughout his life. So do you, you need a spiritual family that will love, care and guide you in your life with the Lord.
You need
encouragement
To grow spiritually, you need someone to encourage you and someone needs your encouragement as well. God designed Lifegroups and the church to encourage people to grow, remain and excel in your walk with Jesus.
You need
accountability
Accountability is very important. It is for your safety. You can easily detect the works and plans of the enemy if a group is accountable to you and you are to them. There, you can share your weakness and be strengthened.
